White Paper Published in SEDHYD’s Reservoir Sedimentation and Sustainable Management
If you, your colleagues, or any members of your network are involved with reservoir-based water infrastructure, you already know that over decades, many of the nation’s critical water storage reservoirs have been gradually trapping sediment materials. This has become an increasingly serious issue in recent years, to the point where water capacity, power generation, and other infrastructure needs are becoming threatened.
Anchor QEA has been assisting the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and several other technical experts comprising the National Reservoir Sedimentation and Sustainability Team (NRSST) in addressing the growing issue of sediment accumulation in the nation’s reservoirs. Our team has collaboratively developed a whitepaper discussing a variety of approaches and technologies that are available to manage this sediment load in a sustainable fashion.
Sedimentation management is critically important to the future of the nation’s reservoirs and all the benefits they provide. SEDHYD is providing useful information on this important topic from the National Reservoir Sedimentation and Sustainability Team, which is comprised of engineers and scientists from multiple Federal and local agencies, universities, consultants, and industry.
